“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13

I discovered a “secret place” that has changed my life forever and made me the person I am today.

Let me tell you about this place. It is where I can breathe vulnerably and celebrate my dependence on God and His Word. It’s a place I can make known my heart, with its needs, thoughts and feelings, doubts and anxieties, sorrows and joys. It is a place of refuge from the chaos, storms and confusion of the world. It’s a place consumed by God’s peace that surpasses all understanding. It’s where I receive supernatural wisdom and knowledge. In this place I get visions and revelations to strengthen and equip me. Here, I am repentant and healed. It is where I find my greatest humility and strongest confidence. It’s where I make room to see God’s faithfulness displayed as I practice waiting on and trusting in His love. As I set my affections on Him, my soul becomes recharged, relaxed, refreshed and restored in the shadow of the Almighty. REST.

“He that dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” Psalm 91:1

“I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.” Psalm 91:2.

There is a deep need in every one of us to be close to God. If you’re asking, “How do I find this secret place and REST there?”

Shift the focus of your effort from yourself, and direct it to God. Go before Him in adoration and make room for Him. Focus your attention on Him and increase your awareness of being in His presence. Stop. Wait. Expect. Be still. Listen. God has promised that as we draw near to Him, He will draw near to us and we will experience Him with us in ever increasing measures. He wants to reveal Himself to all who seek Him, desire Him, long for Him, crave, hunger and Trust in Him. We must Expect, Believe and have Faith that His Presence will give us Rest and then as we REST in his Presence we must Expect for Him to show us how to do all the rest! Resting in Him allows me to do all the rest with Him.

“God reveals Himself to those that earnest seek Him.” Deuteronomy 4:29

As we REST expectantly in God’s presence, He begins to draw our attention to His word. While most people base their theology on His word, it is really the experiences with Him and the revelation we receive through His Holy Spirit that makes it all come alive. And the more we encounter Him through His Word and His Word, through us, our faith arises and we become filled with the confidence and authority to do all we were called to do and be all we were made to be.

The Lord’s ultimate goal is to be intimate with us in an atmosphere of grace, mercy, truth and love. His Peace must become the soundtrack to the schedule of our life. If His Peace consumes and surrounds you, Whew! life becomes much smoother.

I’ve learned rest is a necessity. In order for me to keep pouring out, I must first position myself to be filled. With all that I have to do, I cannot afford not to rest. Even Jesus would get up very early in the morning and go to the wilderness alone to pray (Mark 1:35)! He needed quiet times with the Father. How many of us truly, purposefully put aside and prioritize this time with God consistently as we should and need? I believe if we order our days first, in God’s presence, we’ll watch our hearts desires be fulfilled. The most important thing we can do as a Christian is rest in His presence. With Him we can let every question and concern fade away knowing that He’s in us, with us, for us and loves us. You see, I’ve learned that when I enjoy the Lord first, I find the grace and strength to complete my assignment and run the race without striving.

“The joy of the Lord is my strength.” Nehemiah 8:10

And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is perfected in weakness.”   2 Corinthians 12:9

My first worship project entitled “REST.”  is releasing September 4th 2012.

This has been a dream of mine for over 7 years and I am extremely excited to get it into your listening ears & hearts! Every album I release reflects the season I’m walking and growing in. This one has definitely been one of Rest.
It is a very different sound from my other projects.
I would describe the sound as calm, serene, relaxing, ambient, tranquil, with a heartbeat. There is movement and stillness at the same time.
It is my desire that this project sets an atmosphere for your time of devotion and intimacy with the Lord. That intimate “you and Him” time, that “place” where you can wrestle, cry, wait, and listen. May He speak to you, comfort you, and strengthen you. May He take you away from the opinions of men and noise of this life to REST in His unchanging truth & everlasting peace that surpasses all understanding, where you can believe Him for all things. May He lead you beside the still waters to a place where there is no fear for tomorrow because you’re embraced with grace by the very one who holds it.

 Resting in His Love,

Beckah Shae

As a mom of three kids under the age of five, I am eagerly looking forward to this album and the message you wrote about! I had a lot of health issues develop after the birth of my second, including quite a bit of weight gain. Between the exercising to get my body back the way it should be, a third pregnancy, supporting my hubby as he works and goes back to school, helping my church, and still have time for my God, my kids, and myself this message has struck a chord with me! Nothng in my day goes right unless I have spent it seeking Him and His will. Resting him isn’t something I want to do, it’s something I desperately need! Thank you for yur blessing in your music. Your songs always lift me up! Keep allowing God to use you to bless others with the amazing gifts he has given you!

What a wonderful blog, and testimony. The Lord is so awesome, and I love and adore Him as you do. He is so amazing to awaken each of our hearts, for His glory, and to create in us, a work that is beyond any measure of what man could do on his own. I have to share with you, that this am as I was in prayer before devotion, asking the Lord for those who were in need of His continued guidance, and peace, for their ministries, you actually came into my heart. I will continue to pray your you, your husband, your girls, and family, as we are all of the same body, and have a purpose to fulfill. Sometimes, as women, it is challenging as we do carry so much, and just want so much to fulfill that which the Lord has given us–and to show Him how much we love and adore Him. I am thankful for your ministry, for knowing you in spirit– tho we have never met in person, I will continue to pray for you. The picture above is a lovely depiction of His love toward us. Have a blessed day, and may His love continually be your comfort in all that you do. Psalm 121:1-8 /; Is 41:9,10-You whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called from its farthest regions, And said to you, You are My servant, I have chose you and have not cast you away: Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. :)

I love the way the Spirit pours through you. Your words are as serene as a brook of running water.
I feel like I know you although we’ve never met, like a sister. We are very simular, yet vastly different.
I’m very much looking forward to your new album, “Rest.” “Worship,” as such, is a little foreign to me, I grew up Catholic. I think it’s important to enjoy your church experience, and I love how energized Christian rock can be when people attend “worship services” at church. If you can entertain them while sending a message, the seed of faith is much more likely to take root.
If only we could take the best parts and aspects of each of the collective denominations of Christian churches and make a Universal Christian church, where there is no judgement, I think there would be more harmony and understanding amongst the classifications and stereotypes that create division.
I’ve been a big fan of yours ever since I heard your single “No No” on a local Christian radio station. More than anything, I was struck by your conviction. I used your song “Simcha Shiri,” to tell my then boyfriend that he would be a wonderful father.
You’ve grown and evolved in ways I never would have imagined. The best part of every new album is that you always leave me wanting more.
I’m enjoying seeing you make your dreams come true and I’m impressed at how grounded you are. Keep your chin up and never, never, never quit!

    Your adoring fan,
    Nicole Bracy

Beckah I just want to let you know that you are truly an awesome role model. For a young 20 something woman like myself, it is often challenging to stand out and be set apart in the Lord, but you are bold in your witness of the true beauty of Christ. I have been following you from Life all the way to Rest and I must say that this new album is definitely strengthening my spirit to grow in greater intimacy with the Lord. Thank you for making an aim to present to the world what true beauty looks like not only physically but through the very gifts God has given you. Please continue and God bless!

Beckah…. I just found your album through Spotify this week. I can’t stop listening. Thank you for this beautiful work of art! I love every song, and you are speaking to me right where I am – in a season where I desperately need rest and where God says “come to me and rest,” but where I’m pulled apart at the seams by the demands of everyone around me. Two years ago I took a new job that has turned out to be one of the most negative environments I’ve ever been in. My self worth has never been so low. Just recently I’ve been able to hear God telling me, “their thoughts are not my thoughts. I love you. Come near to me again,” and I’m starting to come alive again. Thank you for this wonderful album… I’m listening every day at work and I’m reminded who our Savior is. Thank you!
